CELEBRATE LENT WITH US
Lent is the most sacred season of the Christians year. It is a 40-day period of reflection, repentance, and preparation leading up to Holy Week and Easter Sunday, when we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord. We would love for you to celebrate this special time of year with us at Brockport First Baptist. Here’s a look at what’s coming up in the weeks ahead…
Ash Wednesday Labyrinth
February 14, 4-7pm
Ash Wednesday is the beginning of Lent — a time to reflect on our own mortality and to thank God for the gift of eternal life. Our prayer labyrinth will be open from 4-7pm. Come by to walk and receive ashes anytime during those three hours. Our labyrinth takes about 30 minutes to walk. It is a quiet, prayerful space in which to begin the Lenten season.
Palm Sunday Worship
March 24, 10am
Palm Sunday is going to be a day to remember this year! In addition to worshipping together and remembering Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem, we will also be welcoming some new members into our congregation! There might even be a baptism or two!
Join us for this service of worship and celebration, Sunday April 2 at 10am!
Maundy Thursday Dinner
March 28, 6pm
Join us Maundy Thursday for a time of worship centered around the dinner table. We will enjoy a simple meal, with liturgy, songs, Scripture reading, and a foot washing ceremony (echoing Jesus and the disciples) after we eat.
Thursday, March 28 at 6pm.
Resurrection Sunday!
March 31, 9am-Noon
Join us for worship Sunday, March 31 as we celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord! The morning will be jam packed with events, including:
Breakfast at 9am in the Fellowship Hall
Worship at 10am in the Sanctuary
Easter Egg Hunt for the kiddos immediately after the service
It’s going to be a great time of celebration as we lift our voices in praise to the God who defeated death and comes to wake us up to the new life that is possible in Christ.
If you have questions about any of these events, please contact the church and let us know!
